1) Get into the Christmas spirit at Southpark Mall. Enjoy the hustle and bustle in this first class shopping wonderland. This is one of Charlotte’s favorite places to see Santa!
2) Enjoy the Christmas lights at Daniel Stowe Botanical Gardens. Weather permitting, you can also enjoy a horse-drawn carriage ride through the gardens.
3) Take in a fun play – the Best Christmas Pageant Ever is playing at the Children’s theater Nov. 25 to Dec. 23, 2016 | McColl Family Theatre | Recommended for all ages

4) Christmas at Charlotte Motor Speedway! Enjoy the wonderful exhibit of lights and excitement from 6-10 p.m. nightly through December 31 (closed Christmas Day). The Christmas light show is bigger and better in its seventh year, with more than 3 million lights along a drive-thru 3.75-mile course! Adding even more family fun, every Thursday-Sunday (and all Christmas week) the show also includes a Christmas village with a petting zoo, Bethlehem village, horse-drawn wagon rides, photos with Santa, and much more.
Thursday through Sunday nights, starting at 6:30PM with a second showing right after the first, come see Christmas classics like “A Christmas Story” and “Frozen” During the “FOX 46 Movie Nights” on the giant 16,000-square-foot Speedway TV!

5) Experience a German Christmas Market right here in the Queen City at the Charlotte Christmas Village | Christkindlmarkt presented by Coca Cola Consolidated. Your local Coke bottler will transform Uptown’s Romare Bearden Park in to a romantic European-inspired Christmas Market featuring juried Christmas, European and local merchandise and arts & crafts. Holiday on Ice, Charlotte’s only outdoor skating rink, is now open for the season. Visitors will skate on the NASCAR Hall of Fame’s Plaza, in the heart of the city. The rink is open from Wednesday to Sunday from November 18 through December 11th, and then every day of the week from December 14th through January 8th, 2017. The hours vary somewhat during the season.
Admission, with skate rental, costs $14. Admission only, with no skate rental, costs $10. You can leave and come back. Your ticket is good all day. You can buy your tickets online in advance (add on a fee in that case) or on site for cash only – an ATM is located on the site.
